Creamy banana and honey oatmeal
Ingredients:
Rolled Oats (Non-Instant): 1 cup
Milk: 2 cups (or a dairy-free alternative like almond or oat milk)
Water: ½ cup
Banana: 1 medium, sliced
Honey: 1-2 tablespoons (adjust to taste)
Cinnamon Powder: ½ teaspoon
Vanilla Extract: ½ teaspoon (optional)
Chopped Nuts: 2 tablespoons (e.g., almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
Chia Seeds or Flax Seeds: 1 teaspoon (optional)
Fresh Fruit: Berries, sliced apples, or additional banana for topping
Instructions:
Cook the Oats:
In a saucepan, combine rolled oats, milk, and water.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture begins to thicken (about 5-7 minutes).
Add Flavors:
Stir in sliced banana (reserving a few slices for topping), honey, cinnamon, and vanilla extract (if using).
Continue cooking for 2-3 minutes until the banana softens and the oatmeal becomes creamy.
Serve:
Transfer the oatmeal to a bowl.
Top with reserved banana slices, chopped nuts, chia seeds or flax seeds (if using), and fresh fruit.
Optional Variations:
Add a dollop of peanut butter or almond butter for extra protein.
Sprinkle some dark chocolate chips for a decadent touch.
Replace honey with maple syrup or agave for a vegan option.
