Classic Oat Groats Porridge

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup oat groats
  • 1½ cups water
  • Pinch of salt

Optional (for creamier version)

  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp butter

To serve (choose)

  • Honey or sugar
  • Fresh fruit
  • Extra milk

Instructions:

  1. Rinse
    Quick rinse under water

  2. Cook
    Add groats + water + salt
    Bring to boil → reduce heat → cover

  3. Simmer
    Cook 35–45 min
    → until soft but still slightly chewy

  4. Finish

Add milk (optional) → cook 5 more min

Stir in butter :

Serve
Top with honey, fruit, or milk
